Here at A Trip to Bountiful, we firmly believe that you only get out of life what you put into it. Being generous, fair, and honest in business and in life rewards one with grace and its own success.
We have been blessed beyond words and we’d like to pay it forward in a way that can benefit children living with cancer in the Austin area. Paying it forward for us is a way to enrich the life of a child living with cancer like so many did for us when we were in need.
There is no way to explain the depth of despair that the loss of a child causes. Nor can the magnificent strength and resilience of a child who lives with a life-threatening disease be explained.
Our family knows both personally. Not a day goes by that we are not influenced by the short but heroic life of our daughter, Libbie.
The Loving Libbie Memorial Foundation is supported primarily by Bountiful Bakery and Cafe and our generous customers but, you might not know that because of this support we are able to give every child in treatment at The Children's Blood and Cancer Center, Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas and Austin’s Ronald McDonald House all the macaroni and cheese they want. Although their treatments can cause these children to lose their appetites, our macaroni and cheese seems to really hit the spot for them!
Over time the kids can grow to rely on the warm comfort they get when they eat our macaroni and cheese, and because they can depend on it always being there for them, it becomes very meaningful to both them and their families. We also provide each child in treatment with a cake on their birthday (with a theme of their choice) and another at their end of treatment celebration!
So every customer of Bountiful Bakery and Cafe knows that their yummy meal today has helped a child in treatment tomorrow. So thank you, thank you, thank you! We always have fundraising opportunities ongoing in the bakery, so please ask if we can help you find one.
What We Do:
Come by for a crustless quiche or a kolache with coffee. Or for lunch try one of our favorite Bountiful sandwiches like the Fried Green Tomato and Bacon or the Mojo Chicken.
Of course, it’s always a good time for a treat at Bountiful. We have an assortment of cakes, pies and cookies in our cases on a daily basis.
